Let me congratulate you in California for your efforts, which I have been told about from several directions. I hope Ross's committee of the MAA [on the future of the NCTM Standards] will do some good. There are other such committees, most notably one of the NCTM itself, which contains at least some mathematical input. And California itself will, I am told, in consequence of a revolution facilitated by people such as some whose names I recognize among the recipients of this message, soon be creating a successor to the Framework you spoke of.
