State Hearings
Per AB265, California has to develop a new set of academic
standards by 1997. A special commission is formed to develop the new
standards, to include educators and members of the public.
AB265 also directed the State Board of Education to hold a series of
regional public hearings, to determine the degree of rigorous,
academic focus for each curricular area.
